Enables users to chat on an ad-hoc Internet free environment without any additional equipment The main aim of this project is to build a product which will be a total solution for chatting and communication. foxTalkz Chat does not need any central server and can operate inside an internet free LAN environment successfully. It is built as a Firefox add-on; therefore no installation cost is needed. The design architecture is very powerful as the interfaces and the business logic is loosely coupled so that the chat engine could be easily integrated with other interfaces. foxTalkz Chat could be easily localized to any language and it is platform independent.Technologies:Java Programming Language was used to develop the engine which runs on the back ground. The Xml User interface language (XUL) was used to develop the user interfaces. XPCOM (Cross Platform Component Object Model) and NSI transport services were used to create socket interfaces and the connection between the XUL interface and the java engine. Connections with the Google chat server are developed using the SMACK API, which is using XMPP protocol.Targeted Users:University students, Business groups, Peer learning groups, Engineering sites, Military operations, people in common waiting areas etc. Here are some key features of "foxTalkz Chat": · No dedicated central server is needed · Operates in an internet free environment · Integrated with Google chat. · Uses Google authentication process. · Group formation with various security levels · Peer to peer file sharing. · Can be used to chat with local users in the LAN and any Google user · Can be use to create groups in side the LAN as well as among several LANs. Requirements: · Mozilla Firefox What's New in This Release: · Fixed some minor issues. · If the add-on does not work properly, open the task manager and the kill the process called "javaw.exe". Then it should work properly.
