Minimalist is an open source Linux distribution based on the world's most popular free operating system, Ubuntu Linux, and using GNOME as its default desktop environment. Minimalist is based on Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal), includes a minimal GNOME 2 desktop environment, handy tools like Synaptic Package Manager, Conky, Nautilus, etc., and it is designed to be used as a starting point for creating your own Ubuntu-based operating system. The system is distributed as a single Live CD ISO image, supporting only the 64-bit architecture. It can be used directly from the live media or installed locally on a hard disk drive.
