We've aimed to make our system simple and intuitive while at the same time not sacrificing aesthetics or more advanced configuration options found on a typical desktop computer. This balance of features and customization presents the end-user with a comfortable multimedia and internet experience they will pick up and understand the essentials of in minutes.Element is based on and shares a development relationship with the popular Ubuntu Linux, which in contrast is developed primarily for home-office pc use. With this in mind close attention has been paid to moving our system out of the office/desktop environment and into the living room, by creating an operating system designed primarily for internet-entertainment and multimedia purposes.Being one of many open-source operating systems based on Linux we have placed a strong emphasis on 'Being Not Just Another Linux Distribution'.
