Security protection against viruses, worms and trojans for Linux and FreeBSD file servers, regardless of workloads.Installation and LaunchAVG 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD installation packages are provided as RPM or deb files, or as a tar.gz package.For installation from the RPM file (Linux only), use the following command in your shell (accessible for example using the xterm application within your X window system).# rpm -i avg75lms-{release}-{vdb version}.i386.rpmFor installation from the .deb file (Linux only), use the following command in your shell (accessible for example using the xterm application within your X window system).# dpkg -i avg75lms-{release}-{vdb version}.i386.debFor installation from the .tar.gz package, use the following commands (in the directory where the package is located) to unpack its contents, change directory and then finally run the install script (as root). For Linux proceed with these steps: # tar xzvf avg75lms-{release}-{vdb version}.i386.tar.gz # cd avg7-linux # ./install.shYou will then be offered the chance to register your software. You can do it now or later (see chapter 3.3 Product Registration). For FreeBSD proceed with these steps: # tar xzvf avg75fms-{release}-{vdb version}.i386.tar.gz # cd avg7-freebsd # ./install.shYou will then be offered the chance to register your software. You can do it now or later (see chapter 3.3 Product Registration). Note: The program files of the AVG 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD versions 11 and older are installed into the /usr/local/lib/avg7 directory. Even if you perform the full update of older version of your AVG, the directory structure remains the same (ensuring the backwards compatibility). However, all essential components of AVG7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD are always updated properly to offer you the maximum security and reliability.The versions 12 and newer are comprehensively installed into the /opt/grisoft directory. Symbolic links are created in various system directories, leading to the /opt/grisoft directory subtree. If you want to upgrade the old directory structure, you must completely reinstall your AVG 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD. Note that in this documentation is always described the preferred newer location of AVG 7.5 forLinux/FreeBSD installation!
