imapbiff Description

imapbiff checks IMAP accounts for new mail. imapbiff checks IMAP accounts for new mail. It uses images similar to those of the classic xbiff program. The project works similar to xbiff, except it is only used to check for new mail in IMAP accounts.It is written in perl, and requires the Tk module for perl. It was written spefically to be docked in my fvwm2 button bar, as I could not find a simple xbiff like app that would do IMAP checks.Requirements:· perl.· The Tk perl module (DOES NOT come with most perl installations).· The Getopt module (comes with most perl installations).· The IO perl module (comes with most perl installations).· The IO::Socket::SSL module if you want to use an SSL connection.What's New in This Release:· Allow using SSL to connect to an imaps server.· Only login to imap server once, and keep connection open. (Thanks to Eric Sorenson for the idea.) · Fixed some bugs that caused problems with Exchange servers. (Thanks to Jay Fenlason.) · Fixed bug that caused problem with spaces in username. (Thanks to Dave Smith.) · Fixed bug in continuing from an error condition. · Cleaned up the code a bit.
