akiraLINUX is a free Linux desktop operating system based on the Xubuntu distribution and customized with Compiz and Emerald. akiraLINUX contains additional, and ready-to-install application for a variety of personal, professional and business tasks. It is suitable for Linux beginners and experienced users alike. The system is distributed as Live DVD ISO images, with separate editions for old and new hardware, supporting only the 64-bit architecture. While the HWE edition is for computers younger than 1.5 years, the NoHWE edition is for computers that are from 1.5 years ago or older.
