ZxLink is a multipurpose utility that lets you hook up your ZX Spectrum 48K/128K/+3 (8-bit home computers made by Sir Clive Sinclair) to an Unix machine. It is intended for those who prefer "the real thing" instead of emulators. Exchange of Spectrum programs via Internet is easier today than on the ancient times. ZxLink will help some Speccy owners to enjoy these new resources.ZxLink handles sound and serial up- and downloading. The current version is only able to download raw binary, tape (.TAP/.TZX) and snapshot (.SNA/.Z80) files. Planned for the future:Backup tapes to hard disk in .TAP format Backup cartridges to hard disk in .MDR format Backup +3 disks to harddisk in .DSK format At the moment ZxLink is known to work on the following machines/ operating systems: · Solaris· SunOS 4.x· Linux Intel SVR4· Mips SVR4· SGI Irix· IBM RS6000 AIX 3.2.x· Hewlett Packard HP-UX· DEC Alpha LinuxMore information about ZxLink including porting information, command line options, and other useful stuff, can be found in the ZxLink documentation.
