Following the tinyurl.com-generated URL will redirect your browser to Verify Redirect's homepage without any prompts or notification from the browser. Of course, with convenience comes some inherit risks: if the URL shortening service is hacked, all links through that service can be redirected to a malicious site--and it has happened before.Verify Redirect is a Firefox extension that gives you--the user--the opportunity to see which website you are being redirected to and allows you to decide whether you want to proceed to that site or not.
