A streaming server/relay supporting a variety of sources and multiple output formats Tvheadend is a streaming server/relay supporting a variety of sources and multiple output formats.Tvheadend is primarily intended to be used for receiving TV (DVB, Analog, IPTV) and to transmit it using a number of different output formats to subscribers. Together with powerful DVR (Digital Video Recorder) features, an advanced EPG and a web-interface it can be used as a TV distribution hub in your home.Here are some key features of "Tvheadend":InputsThe following input sources are supported by tvheadend.DVB - Using the linuxtv DVB API.Multiple DVB adapters are supported. Each adapter can receive all programs available on the currently tuned mux simultaneously.All channels are scanned for automatically, providing the tuning files are configured.DVB Service information (EPG, etc) is parsed and fed into the tvheadend core for further processing and distribution.Software based CSA descrambling is available providing you have a code word server.IPTV - Multicasted TVTvheadend supports MPEG Transport streams over UDP. Each configured channel will be joined only when a subscription needs them.Channels needs to be configured manually, but stream details (video/audio PIDs etc) is detected automatically.Analog - Using the video4linux v2 APICurrently only tested in PAL TV networks.Internal audio/video test generatorAn internal test audio/video stream generator is available for testing purposes.OutputsThe following outputs are supported by tvheadend.RTSP - RealTime Streaming ProtocolUsing MPEG TS over RTP/AVP/UDP and RTP/AVP.Supports streaming to applications such as VLC and MplayerAlso proven to work with various Set Top Boxes.XBMSP - XBMC Streaming ProtocolWatch TV on your X-Box. The query can be narrowed down to search only within a specific channel group, a specific channel or just include a certain type of content (as classified by the channel provider).The search tab is also used to create autorecordings.Autorecordings will automatically continue to schedule events for recording that matches the stored query. This enables powerful recording capabilities such as: "Record all film content on channel X", or "record 'simpsons' on any channel", etcRecorder logThe recorder log contains information about past, current and future recordings. The user can cancel recordings and also see details about each scheduled recording.It also lists all the active autorecordings and allows the user to delete them.System statusThis tabs displays information about the current status of the system.Access control and operationThe web server is embedded in the tvheadend application (i.e. you dont need to run apache or similar servers).Also, all access to the server is controlled by the tvheadend user database so no unauthorized persons can interfere with your system. What's New in This Release: · Lots of UI improvements in this release. Also added decent DiSEqC support (support for LNB switches) and ability to configure different types of LNBs.
