OpenVerse is an open source graphical chat system written in TCL/Tk. OpenVerse is an open source graphical chat system written in TCL/Tk.The program connects to any OpenVerse server (server and client code included). OpenVerse is similar to other graphical chat systems like Excite Chat and Microsoft Chat with the main differences being that our OpenVerse is open source software, has no advertisements, and also runs on a variety of systems including Windows, Unix, Macintosh, and just about anything else for which you can find a copy of TCL/TK!Requirements:· TCL/TKInstallingIf you are running Red Hat or one of it's variants (Mandrake, SuSE, Kondra, etc..) we suggest you get the RPM and install with:# rpm -Uvh OpenVerse-0.8-7.noarch.rpmAs root.If you are running Debian stable you can either:# dpkg -i openverse_0.8.5-1_all.deb or, if you have the appropriate deb-src line in your sources.list:# apt-get source -b openverse If you have the unstable or testing branch apt-get will download our latest version in the usual way:# apt-get install openverse Users of other distros (Slackware, etc..) can install OpenVerse from the .tar.gz archive:# tar -zxvf OpenVerse-0.8-7.tar.gz# mv OpenVerse /usr/lib/OpenVerse# ln -s /usr/lib/OpenVerse/OpenVerse.tcl /usr/bin/OpenVerseWhat's New in This Release:· SKETCH - Added a hack to convert default servers from openverse.org to openverse.com· VILE - Documentation updates for openverse.com
