Instant WebKiosk is a free browser-only live operating system based on Linux Debian and designed for use in web kiosks, multi-user workstations (cafès, offices, schools, hotels) and digital signage deployments.It uses Google Chromium as system browser and it features audio support, video files support (via VLC*), Adobe Flash support, PDF viewing, images viewing and office files support**; it requires (wired) Ethernet connection (both with DHCP or static IP) and offers full “i18n” (internationalization) including CJ input methods.(*) VLC supported file types: MPG, MPEG, MP3, MP4, AVI, WMV, WMA, ASF, MOV, 3GP, OGG, OGM, MKV, RM, WAV, DTS, AAC, FLV, MIDI.(**) Office files support: RTF, ODT, ODS, ODP, CSV, SXW, SXC and SXI files open with ZOHO Viewer, while PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT and PPTX files open with Google Docs Viewer. HTML, TXT open inside the browser.Instant WebKiosk protects your privacy: it does not need to be installed on the machine, its browser is fully customizable at run-time (users can change settings; it’s intentionally not locked down in any way) but after a reset it presents itself with the default settings. One advantage of Chromium is that it’s able to install apps from the famous Chrome Web Store.Instant WebKiosk boots form USB flash devices (in order to write the downloaded IWK ISO file to a USB stick, Windows users can use Win32DiskImager, while Linux users can make use of dd) and supports the same hardware that default Debian Linux distributions do.Product's homepage
