Gpart Description

Gpart is a free, small and open source command-line software written in C and designed to be used for detecting and validating existing partition types of a hard disk drive (HDD), making sure that the primary partition table has not been damaged. GParted should not be confused with the Gpart tool, as the latter scans the entire device (or file) and uses its guessing modules to determine if a known filesystem starts at a given sector. Gpart comes with several built-in filesystem guessing modules, but it also allows users to dynamically add other modules. More details can be found in its manual page.
