GetEz Description

An interface to the wget tool GetEz is an interface to the wget tool. Wget is a free utility for non-interactive download of files from the web. GetEz supports HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP protocols as well as retrieval through HTTP proxies. GetEz is exclusively made to work on GNU/Linux boxes and more specifically on Gnome environment. GetEz provides an user friendly way to download files with ease, even when the user logs out. GetEz has various options which allow the user to have control over the download.GetEz has two options tabs in the interface. The first one is the General which have the basic options needed to start the download. The second comes the Advanced which has options to tweak the download process. Apart from these the interface also has a tab labeled About us which gives information about the two authors of the projects. Thus the interface is very simple and easy to use by a new user, hence we say it is user friendly.GetEz is made with GLADE 2.0 using gtk+ libraries. Basic C functions are used to implement the various functionality of the wget tool. GetEz implements almost all the options that are available with the wget tool. The user has to choose the options according to the type and necessity of the download. The download is done in an efficient manner. The user has to specify the URL to be downloaded and can also specify the location where the files are going to be downloaded.INSTALLATION:Copy the tar file to any folder and untar that. To untar type the following. $ tar -xvzf getez-v-1.0.tar.gzNow a directory named 'getez-1.0' is placed in the current directory.Move into the 'getez-1.0' directory. Type './configure' to generate the required Makefiles as per your system settings. Now, Type 'make' to get the binary for the getez. $ makeYou will get the binary named getez.To start the application just run the binary 'getez'. $ ./getez To install GetEz in your system try 'make install'. $ make install What's New in This Release: · Fix some serious bugs which prevented getez to work with latest wget versions.
