FarsiTeX is a free Persian/English bidirectional typesetting system based on Donald Knuth's TeX Program. FarsiTeX is a free Persian/English bidirectional typesetting system based on Donald Knuth's TeX Program. TeX and his friend METAFONT have served mathematicians and technical writers all over the world for many years and helped them to write prettier and easier.The recommended way to install is:· Install the latest MiKTeX from http://miktex.org/· Run the FarsiTeX installer and DO NOT CHANGE THE DEFAULT DIRECTORY. Install for "All Users"· If you see it cannot find ftx2tex converter, add c:localtexmfmixtexbin to the PATH manually. It"s supposed to do that, but I"m not quite sure it's doing.Notes:· There have been MAJOR changes in the system. Read the PDF first.· The editor in this version is pretty same as latest released version. This will change in the final release.· The installer and the installed files are all only at the quality level of a test release. There are lots of known problems and bugs, but they will be removed before final release.· What I recommend you do is to first read the PDF above, then install it and test it with your old documents and send me your notes, pizza, etc. When running on old documents, first clean up by removing .tex, .aux, .toc, and other generated files before running new FarsiTeX.· Font installation may not work. Reboot your machine to see if it helps. Otherwise, figure out how to install the farsitex.fon yourself.· You can create PDF files using the following command after you have run the regular FarsiTeX: pdfetex "&fapdftex" filename.texWe will have other mechanisms to do that in the future.· Report your bugs on farsitex.org, or discuss in the mailing list.
