ClearLUX Description

A GNOME theme for the Clearlooks engine ClearLUX is a GTK theme based on the colour scheme of LUX and powered by the Clearlooks engine.ClearLUX is smooth because it uses no background pixmaps or gradients, and has a consistent apperance because it only uses one engine. It is also somewhat faster than LUX. (I used gtkperf for this test and, because it is machine dependant, don't pay too much attention to my claim.)Disclaimer: this theme is not based on the LUX code base, which means that if you want the most bug-free dark theme currently available you should continue using LUX.Credits: ClearLUX is based on Ubuntu Human-Clearlooks 0.28.6 & LUX 0.9x.How to install?· Right click on your desktop and select Change Desktop Background· Click on the first tab: Theme· Drag and drop the theme's archive in the Appearance Preferences window.· If everything is OK, you will receive a confirmation message and you can activate the theme just by clicking on it.About GNOME:GNOME is an international effort to build a complete desktop environment—the graphical user interface which sits on top of a computer operating system—entirely from free software. This goal includes creating software development frameworks, selecting application software for the desktop, and working on the programs which manage application launching, file handling, and window and task management.GNOME is part of the GNU Project and can be used with various Unix-like operating systems, most notably Linux, and as part of Java Desktop System in Solaris. The name originally stood for GNU Network Object Model Environment, though this acronym is deprecated. The GNOME project puts heavy emphasis on simplicity, usability, and making things “just work”. Requirements: · gtk+ · GNOME · Clearlooks What's New in This Release: · ClearLUX has been completely re-writen. · From the end-user perspective, most of the changes are fairly subtle. · But this version hopefully has fewer bugs and inconsistencies. · The cleaner code also means it will be easier to find and fix bugs.
