BGS is a back ground setter.SYNOPSISbgs The bgs program allows you to tailor the appearance of the background ("root") window on a workstation dis- play running X. bgs uses imlib2 for image rendering and rotates the images automaticly. It is made for dynamic Xinerama/Xrandr setups such as used with notebooks, but it works very fine in any setup.OPTIONS-v prints version information to standard output, then exits. -x switches to dynamic mode. bgs will update your background as soon as the root window changes.InstallationEdit config.mk to match your local setup (bgs is installed intothe /usr/local namespace by default).Afterwards enter the following command to build and install bgs (ifnecessary as root): make clean installIf you are going to use the default bluegray color scheme it is highlyrecommended to also install the bluegray files shipped in the dextra package.Running bgsAdd the following line to your .xinitrc to start bgs using startx: bgs < image > &In order to connect bgs to a specific display, make sure thatthe DISPLAY environment variable is set correctly, e.g.: DISPLAY=foo.bar:1 bgs < image > &(This will start bgs on display :1 of the host foo.bar.)
