Animmerger Description

Animmerger is an open source command-line software that can be used to stitch 2D images together into a single static image or an animated image, while attempting to preserve static background. For example,the software is able to create a movie that has a fixed background, for scene that follows an actor around and the background scrolls to follow them. Animmerger uses a motion detection algorithm and a simulated infinite 2D canvas to create this effect, called animation merger. The Animmerger utility has been successfully used as an automatic map stitching for 2D video games.
