Advanced Stock Tracking System (AST) is a Web-based application for keeping track of stocks.Advance Stock Tracker features a portfolio with dividend tracking, a worksheet to keep track of prospects, a stock comparison utility, and a search engine for the stock market based heavily on technical analysis.Requirements:· CGI capable web-server, such as apache· gnuplot - required for plotting, preferably version 4· mhash - used to encrypt passwords· zlib - for compressing HTML pages· libcurl - (version 0.1.2 or newer), for downloading webpages· libxml2 - (version 0.1.2 or newer), for parsing rss feeds· sendmail - setup and working correctly for email notifications (optional)· cron - for pattern search and news (optional)Installation:You can install either from source, or using the pre-compiled binary for i386, both available on the files page. If you are installing from source, simply run ./configure then makeThis will generate the stocks.cgi executable file in the src directory. If you downloaded the pre-compiled binary then all you need to do is extract it. You must place this file in your htdocs directory on your webserver (be sure that it has ExecCGI enabled). You need to make it executable:chmod 555 stocks.cgiYou will also need the data files, such as images and HTML files as well as the directory structure. You can download this in the file ast-data file. You should extract the contents of this file where you put stocks.cgi. You can extract it with tar -xvpf ast-data-.tar.gzThe application should now be up and running on your website. The default login is admin, with password admin. You can change this on the users tab, as well as add other users.If you wish to use the news, alerts or pattern search features, you should load the crontab file from the ast-data distribution into your local crontab. This will downloads the required data for all symbols nightly. It assumes you are in the Eastern time zone (Toronto/New York), make sure to adjust the timing if you are not.What's New in This Release:· This release fixes the downloading errors with Yahoo!
