ABS Description

ABS (Arch Build System) is an open source project, part of the Arch Linux operating system, designed to be used for building and packaging software from source code. Arch Build System is similar to the ports system used in the Gentoo Linux operating system, providing a series of tools used to obtain the PKGBUILD files that are used to build the packages in Arch Linux's official software repositories. This project also provides a collection of prototype PKGBUILD files, which will be installed to /usr/share/pacman, that can be used for building RCS-style packages, such as SVN or CVS.
